Poem: To The Primo I Never Knew

crime-scene

To the primo I never knew
To live and die by the gun
The calling of the streets
Crawling under the rug
The subway rats creeping in the fog
Catch you slipping like a deep sleep
Fingers on the trigger light up the streets
For a moment reality creeps in
A fight breaks out from this earth for a soul
The soul takes grip to the fleshy temple
But the time has come
For the primo I never knew
Eternity is but a last breath away
Like a mirror your reflection is mine
Taken from this world with a bullet to the head
Eyes rolls back
Game over the vatos say
But what will happen to his lonely soul?
To walk the path to eternal life
But who am I to judge? the primo I never knew
