POEM: THE PAIN IS DEEP

FullSizeRenderThe pain is deep
Embedded into the shreds of our lands
Nations divided
Yet still united with the pain that runs on our streets
Children who suffer at the hands of greed
Dancing with the stars we rise to our feet
Yet to see these children suffer we turn the cheek
The pain is deep
The earth cries and sees
The suffering feet of these dear children at her feet
Why must we carry on?
What can be done?
Yet we remain comfortable in our own sheets
To hide underneath the pain that is deep
The eyes of a child tell all she has seen
Yet to rejoice with a small toy
Which will probably never be her choice
Those who waste at the amount of our gains
Not to worry about those that suffer in pain
This pain is deep and moves like a cycle
When will the cycle stop and see the finished worked?
Come and stand
Arise and be heard
Break the chains of the pain so deep
Listen and help those in need
For one cent of your time will change eternity for another

  2. You are right. There is a cycle of greed for power, death and hatred. People are traumatised and children suffer. It is a cycle that needs breaking. – Best wishes Opher

  5. Beautiful. Heartbreaking. Your words ring true. I cannot fathom the overwhelming fear that the refugee children experience minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour.
