POEM: FROM THE LAND OF TREASURES

Buel-01From their land of treasures they were robbed
Made to suffer at the hands of greedy men
Used as toys to fulfill their deeds
Deeds of riches at the cost of lives
Robbed from their land taken to the new world
New to them who had lost their hope
Women and children separated
Husbands made to watch their women desecrated
People sold at prices less worth
To labor on their backs would be their reward
Yet today we ignore the history of our land
The death of those that came from another land
To work the fields for the riches of this land
And yet we silence the pain that was caused
Men and women our land remembers
The rocks and nature lived through this story
If only they could tell us of what was done
Robbed from their treasures and taken to the unknown
Slaves to labor in this foreign land
Don’t forget what has taken place
Little by little we are made to forget
But how can we forget?
When all around us we see the work of their hands
Silent they lived in the fear of this land
But today we remember those that came from another land
Robbed of their land of treasures they suffered
How can we speak today less we remember?
Will history repeat itself in a hundred years?
Only time will tell what is to come
But we will stand with our minds awaken
To not forget the land that was taken

  2. The Blood of the slain ones who were stolen from their land and brought here to be slaves cries out. God hears. Great poem. Blessings.
