POEM: IF THEY COULD ONLY SPEAK

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThey stand still
Built by the hands of those that surround her
They grow in age but yet can be repaired
In them remain the memories of times gone by
The voices of the past
If only they could be heard
If only they had eyes to tell of what they have seen
The seasons and time change
Those that surround her grow in pain
As their crippled bodies gain the time that engulfs them
Yet they which have no voice remain
If only they could speak
What would they say?
Would we listen?
Is wisdom hidden within them?
If only they could speak
